Dear Blooming Grove ISD Families,

This afternoon, the fire alarm was triggered in the cafeteria at Blooming Grove Elementary. I want to take a moment to commend the outstanding response of our BGE staff and students. Everyone evacuated the building quickly, calmly, and efficiently, exactly as we have practiced during drills.

The Corsicana Frost and Blooming Grove Fire Departments arrived promptly on-site and determined that the source of the alarm was smoke, potentially coming from an AC unit. Thanks to everyone’s quick action, all students and staff were immediately accounted for, and the situation was handled with the utmost professionalism.

Thank you, BGE staff, for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. You all continue to set the bar high!

The Corsicana and BG fire departments have cleared our elementary campus. Teachers and students are returning to their classrooms, and we will have a normal dismissal. BGE staff and students did an amazing job of handling this situation! We are very proud of our Lion family!

Corsicana and BG fire department are accessing the situation and have given us clearance to move all students into the gym at the elementary campus.
Parents will be allowed to check their students out early. You can use the bus entrance at the elementary campus until 3:20 pm. After 3:20 pm use the regular entrance for pickup.

Fire alarms were triggered at the elementary. Fire department is now on scene. All students and staff at the elementary campus have been evacuated, accounted for and are safe. We will give an update shortly.
